RunsOn pricing: a flat licence plus AWS compute at cost
RunsOn runs GitHub Actions runners inside your own AWS account. AWS bills you for the instances, and RunsOn charges a flat annual licence per legal entity with no seats and no per-minute fee. The licence tier depends on how many runners you start a month, not on minutes.

THE SHORT VERSION · 1 OCTOBER 2026
Licence tiers
| Tier | Runners per month | EUR/year | USD/year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial Starter | < 50k | EUR 300 | $350[1] |
| Commercial Growth | < 200k | EUR 900 | $1,050[1] |
| Commercial Scale | < 500k | EUR 1,800 | $2,100[1] |
| Enterprise | 500k+ | EUR 3,600 | $4,200[1] |
| Free non-commercial | n/a | EUR 0 | $0[1] |
One licence covers every GitHub organisation and AWS account the legal entity owns or controls. Enterprise adds priority support, a private Slack Connect channel and source-code access, and is also sold through AWS Marketplace. RunsOn says the Starter tier fits about 79% of teams.
Example AWS compute rates published by RunsOn
RunsOn's pricing page shows what AWS charges for each runner size. These are spot prices in us-east-1 including a 30 GB gp3 root volume, billed by AWS to the second. Spot prices move, so treat them as a snapshot.
RunsOn against GitHub-hosted runners
RunsOn's own table sets AWS spot cost against GitHub's rate for each size. The licence is a fixed annual cost on top.
| Runner | RunsOn | GitHub-hosted | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Linux x64, 2 CPU (AWS spot) | $0.0009[1] | $0.006 (2-core)[2] | -85% |
| Linux arm64, 2 CPU (AWS spot) | $0.0010[1] | $0.005 (2-core arm64)[2] | -80% |
| Windows, 2 CPU (AWS spot) | $0.0020[1] | $0.010 (2-core)[2] | -80% |
Difference = RunsOn rate against the GitHub-hosted rate in the same row; negative means RunsOn is cheaper per minute. GitHub rates from our GitHub Actions pricing page, re-read from GitHub's docs on 1 October 2026. Shapes are not identical across vendors, so compare like with like where a row says so.
WORKED EXAMPLE: 25,000 Linux x64 minutes a month on 2 CPU
Uses RunsOn's published us-east-1 spot snapshot. RunsOn's per-minute figures cover the instance and a 30 GB gp3 root volume; any other AWS charges your setup incurs sit outside them. The GitHub figure is before any minutes your GitHub plan includes.
Because the licence is flat, RunsOn gets cheaper per minute the more you run. At low volume the licence dominates; at high volume AWS spot pricing does.
You still own the AWS account, its quotas and its networking, which is the trade against fully managed providers.
Billing details that change the bill
Licence tiers are set by runners started per month, not minutes, so many short jobs push you up tiers faster than a few long ones.[1]
Compute is billed by AWS at spot or on-demand prices, which change. RunsOn's table is a us-east-1 spot snapshot.[1]
The licence is billed annually per legal entity.[1]
